Directed by award-winning filmmaker Alison Reid, this beautiful documentary follows the extraordinary lifelong friendship between Robert Bateman and biologist Bristol Foster — two curious young men who set out in 1957 on a global expedition in a Land Rover affectionately named The Grizzly Torque; travelling (surviving) 14 months, living in the GT.
Armed with a 16mm camera, an artist’s brush, and an apparently bottomless appetite for wonder, Bateman and Foster travelled through some of the world’s most breathtaking landscapes. What began as an adventure became something much larger: a love letter to nature, friendship, curiosity, and the responsibility we all share to protect the living world.
